Saturday, June 27 - The Prodigals - artist site

A glorious blend of Irish traditional melodic roots and a jazz-funk rhythm section,
has been proclaimed "one of the most powerful and pulsating within the genre.
" What makes The Prodigals unique is their merging Celtic with rock rhythms.
Their song "The Open Reel" was on the soundtrack of the 2008 film
Pride and Glory. This evening also features an acoustic set.

The City of Long Beach and Kennedy Plaza will be host to local artist booths and musicians every Sunday in the summer into the fall starting May 16, 2010.  Similar to the current Farmers Market, the Artist Market will allow sales of artwork from local vendors.  Membership in one of the art organizations is required, so check out AIP membership for participation.  AIP member, Scott Evers, will be coordinating the event.  This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a collaboration of local arts groups and to present  a unified artistic expression demonstrating the importance of the arts in the community .  Let's make this ongoing event a success.
