FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR THE SELECTION OF THE NEXT NASSAU COUNTY POET LAUREATE The Nassau County Poet Laureate (NCPL) Selection Committee is accepting candidate submissions for our next NCPL, to be acclaimed by the poetry community in June 2009. The procedure is as follows:
To be considered for the position of Nassau County Poet Laureate (NCPL), the person you recommend must be a resident of Nassau County, remain a resident for the length of the two-year term, and be eighteen years of age or older. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in poetry and be a dedicated advocate of poetry in the educational and cultural life of Nassau County. Further information will be asked of the poet during the selection process. All candidates will be screened by the NCPL Selection Committee to determine finalists. Please spread the word.
