Description: Explore your creative urges through the medium of
watercolor. In this studio workshop we approach the art of
watercolor painting by mastering several simple techniques.
First, we investigate the unique properties of watercolor as
well as those of various papers and brushes. Next we explore the
basics of all painting- color, composition, shape, texture and
value. Finally, clear and straightforward demonstrations enable
even the beginner to master this subtle but complex medium.
Note: Some classes may be held outdoors, weather permitting.

featuring exhibitions of contemporary artists from around the world, along
with other businesses and areas of town also displaying artwork. Local
restaurants will not only be displaying artwork, but will also be offering

coffee specials and will also have art displayed.

Juried Sculpture Garden Exhibition National Call for Artists

Landing and the East End Arts Council announce a juried Outdoor Sculpture
Exhibition at Brecknock Hall , to take place from July 1 through September 11,
2010. A GalaReception will be held on Saturday, July
17th.
Located 100 miles from New York City on the North Fork of Long Island,
Greenport is a
major summer tourist destination. This is the first annual juried sculpture
exhibition showcasing high-quality works by local and national sculptors that
best complement and enhance this unique building and garden setting. It is an
honor to announce that the jurors will be Richard Mizdal, Peter Reginato, Dr.
Charles Riley II, and Marianne Weil. The Honorary Committee includes Matko
Tomicic and Robert and Todd Berks.
Accepted artists will be invited to the media & artists luncheon and be given
admission to the Reception Gala. A catalog will be published which will
feature each selected sculpture.
Up
to three pieces per artist may be submitted for jury consideration. Entry is
open to all sculptors submitting only their original creations.Completed applications must be postmarked by April 15, 2010. Artists
will be notified of the jury decision by May 15, 2010. To request a full
